Sorting out RV window coverings
RV windows aren't house windows. They're often odd sizes, curved, or wedged into a slide-out, and whatever covers them has to survive being bounced down the interstate. The three categories here handle that job in different ways, so start with what your coach already uses and go from there.
- Blinds. Pleated shades that raise and lower on a cord, plus the hold-downs and snap fasteners that keep them from swinging while you drive. The most common factory setup in newer rigs.
- Curtains. Fabric panels that ride on a ceiling- or wall-mounted track — the carriers, glides, hooks, and I-beam track brackets to build or repair a curtain run.
- Day & Night Shades. Dual shades that switch between a light-filtering day layer and a blackout night layer, plus reflective bubble-foil covers that knock down summer heat and winter cold at the glass.
Most coaches run a mix — pleated shades on the big front windows, curtains on the bunk, a reflective cover for the windshield. Match the replacement parts to the track or bracket already installed and the swap goes a lot smoother.
