Finding the right refrigerator parts

Most RV fridge problems trace back to one of four areas: the sealed cooling unit that does the actual work, the boards and sensors that run it, the vent path that carries heat away out the roof or sidewall, or the plastic shelves and door hardware that take daily abuse. Pick the branch that matches your symptom or project.

• Cooling Units. Replacement Norcold and Nordic sealed units, plus the thermistors, heating elements, ignitor electrodes, and power boards that make an absorption fridge cool.

If the fridge won't cool at all, it's usually the cooling unit or a control board, not the shelves. If it cools but not enough on a hot day, look at the vent path and airflow first — that's the cheapest fix and the most overlooked.
