Building and fixing an RV curtain track
An RV curtain system is a track, a set of carriers that roll inside it, and the hooks that hang the fabric off those carriers. Get the track profile right and everything else follows. RV Designer builds most of the common pieces, and they're numbered — a #6 track hook, a #9 glide, a two-wheel I-beam carrier — so matching a replacement is a matter of reading the part off what you already have.
- Track and mounts. A ceiling-mount kit like the 45-inch RV Designer track comes with end caps; for a divider curtain you'll want I-beam ceiling brackets that clamp to the frame. Measure the opening and add a few inches so the curtain clears the window when open.
- Carriers and glides. Nylon two-wheel drape carriers roll on I-beam track; sew-in #6 carriers hook straight into the fabric. If a curtain drags or catches, swap the cracked carrier — they're sold in 14-packs because you replace the whole run at once.
- Glide tape. The #9 glide tape sews into the top hem and slides in a smaller track, a low-profile option where a full carrier won't fit. Check the glide size against your track width.
- Hooks and snaps. Stainless drape hooks resist the humidity that rusts plated steel, and turn buttons or a wall-to-wall snap kit hold a panel flat when you want it pinned rather than drawn.
