RV Lighting
Every bulb and fixture in an RV runs off the 12-volt house system, which is exactly why LED took over this category — the same light output for a fraction of the amp draw and none of the heat. The branch splits four ways: the fixtures inside the coach, the marker and porch lights outside, the reading and task lamps, and the replacement bulbs and lenses that keep older fixtures alive.

Finding the right RV lighting section
RV lighting isn't one shopping trip — an interior dome light and a rear tail lamp have almost nothing in common beyond the 12-volt feed. Sort yourself into the right category first and the specifics get simple.
- Interior LED Lights. Ceiling domes, under-cabinet strips, down lights, and remote-controlled fixtures for the living space — the LED upgrades that cut your amp draw at the panel.
- Porch & Exterior Lights. Clearance and side-marker lamps, stop/turn/tail lights, license plate lamps, and porch lights, most of them sealed and submersible for life outside.
- Reading & Task Lights. Bunk lights, fan-and-light combos, and rechargeable headlamps for the jobs a ceiling fixture can't reach.
- Replacement Bulbs. 1156 bayonet, 921 wedge, and G4 pin bulbs, plus the snap-in lenses for Peterson trailer lights when the plastic clouds or cracks.
If you're chasing a light that won't come on, start at the bulb, then the fuse, then the ground. A lot of "dead" fixtures are just a corroded connection, and swapping to LED across the rig is one of the cheapest ways to stretch a night on the batteries.
