Sorting out awning hardware and arms

Most hardware purchases land in one of two buckets: something broke and you need the exact replacement, or you are adding accessories to the roller channel. Fit decides both. A foot or clip that is close but not exact either will not seat or will not hold.

• Support legs and feet. Carport feet are the end fittings on the drop-down support legs, the part that plants on the ground or into the mounting bracket. They crack and go missing, and a black or white replacement foot keeps the leg from digging in or sliding out.
• Awning channel accessories. The roller carries a channel that party-light hangers and clips slide into. JR Products and RV Designer make snap hangers, swivel-hook Klippy Klips, and stainless hangers for stringing lights or hanging a screen without adhesive or drilling.
• Awning savers. A removable awning-saver roller keeps the fabric or a screen-door cord from chafing where it rubs, a small part that heads off a big tear.
• Upgrade kits. On a powered Carefree awning, the Carefree Connects upgrade kit adds FOB remote control. Confirm your awning model is compatible first, since these are model-specific.
• Match the brand where it counts. Structural parts like feet, castings, and arm components should match your awning's maker (Carefree, for the parts here). Clips and hangers are more universal and fit standard awning rails.
