Step & Slide-Out Rugs
This category covers the small rugs at the two spots grit collects, the entry steps and the slide-out threshold, along with the sled and hardware that let a slide room move. For rugs there's Camco's wrap-around step rug for standard 18-inch steps, adjustable 8 to 10.5 inches deep, and Prest-O-Fit's Trailhead set cut for the MORryde StepAbove four-step stair. On the mechanical side are AP Products slide-out sleds and Lippert actuator and hydraulic pump parts.

Choosing step rugs and slide-out gear
The entry step sees more dirt transfer than anywhere else in the rig, since everyone scrubs their shoes there on the way in. A step rug that grips the tread, wraps the front lip where toes land, and pulls off for a quick shake does the job. One that's the wrong size slides around or leaves the leading edge bare.
What to match on:
- Wrap-around vs. flat. A wrap-around rug like Camco's folds over the front and sides of the step, covering the leading edge where most of the scrubbing happens. It stays put better than a flat rug that only sits on top.
- Step width and depth. Standard RV steps run about 18 inches wide; the Camco rug fits that and adjusts 8 to 10.5 inches deep. Measure first, since a rug that overhangs too far turns into a trip hazard.
- Matched step-system sets. Running a MORryde StepAbove stair? The Prest-O-Fit Trailhead set is cut for its four 19.5-inch treads, which beats forcing generic rugs onto each step.
- Slide-out sleds and hardware. The AP Products PVC-coated sleds let a slide room glide on its rails, and the Lippert actuator and hydraulic pump parts are replacement components for the slide mechanism, not floor coverings, so match them to your slide system.
Shake step rugs out often, since that's where the grit you'd otherwise track inside collects. Back them with a patio mat on the ground below and keep the floor they protect in shape with the right flooring or liner.
