Choosing a fixed RV toilet

Almost every RV toilet here is a gravity-flush design: step the pedal, a flush ball or blade at the bottom of the bowl opens, and water and waste drop straight into the black tank below. The choices come down to fit, bowl material, and how it feels to use — most of these share a standard floor flange, but always confirm the bolt pattern and the space you have.

• High vs low profile. Low-profile toilets like the Aqua-Magic Residence and VI Low sit shorter, handy under a tight bathroom sink or in a slide. High-profile units like the Bravura and Style Plus sit at a more residential seat height that's easier on the knees.
• Plastic vs china bowl. Plastic toilets (Bravura at about 18.7 lb) are lighter and cheaper to ship. A china or ceramic bowl, like the Camco premium or the Style Plus china, cleans up easier and feels closer to home, at more weight.
• Flush mechanism. Single-pedal designs both flush and add bowl water with one pedal; two-pedal setups separate the two. The Dometic 310 uses a foot pedal on a round bowl; most Aqua-Magics use a single-pedal pull-and-push.
• Color and seat. These come in white, bone, and parchment to match older fixtures — worth matching if you're replacing one toilet in a coordinated bath. Seat height and shape (round vs elongated) affect comfort more than anything else.

Whichever you pick, plan on a fresh floor flange seal at install — the old seal rarely reseats well. Keep the seals and repair parts category bookmarked for the flush-ball seal that eventually wears, and if you don't have a plumbed black tank, look at the portable and cassette toilets instead.
