RV Leveling Blocks
Set up on a sloped site without correcting it and you feel it all night: the mattress tilts and drawers roll open on their own, and an absorption fridge won't cool right when it isn't close to level. Leveling blocks raise the low-side tires until the trailer sits flat. Choosing leveling blocks for your rig
Leveling comes first at any site, before a single jack drops. The two approaches here reach the same result differently: stackable blocks let you dial an exact height, while curved ramps trade that precision for speed, since you pull forward until the bubble centers and then chock. Pick based on how uneven your usual sites are and how heavy the rig is.
- Interlocking blocks. Tri-Lynx Lynx Levelers and Camco FasTen blocks snap together like heavy plastic Lego, so you can build a two- or three-course ramp for a big lift or lay a single layer for a minor correction. The quad-grid pattern spreads the tire's load and resists cracking.
- Curved ramps. The Camco curved leveler adds up to about 4 inches and you simply drive on until level, which beats stacking when you're setting up alone. The two-piece sets include a chock to catch the wheel at the right spot.
- Weight capacity. Read the rating against your loaded axle weight, not dry weight. Valterra Stackers go to 40,000 lb and Ultra-Fab blocks to 30,000 lb, which covers heavy fifth wheels; lighter trailers sit well inside either limit.
- Single vs. tandem axle. A tandem needs a ramp long enough to carry both tires up together, or a longer curved leveler; a single short block lifts only one tire and can twist the axle. Lighter trailers on smaller wheels, like the 13- to 15-inch sizes the BAL leveler fits, are more forgiving here.
Blocks get the trailer level but won't hold it in place, so set your wheel chocks the moment you reach height. With it level and chocked, lower the stabilizers onto jack pads so they don't sink and undo the work.
