Cold-weather camping is a lot less stressful when your holding tank can't freeze solid on you. The LaSalle Bristol ThermaHeat is a flexible heating pad that mounts to the underside of a holding tank (up to about 40 gallons) with a simple peel-and-stick adhesive backing, so there's no drilling or bracket work involved.
A built-in thermostat does the thinking for you: the pad powers on once temperatures fall to around 45°F and shuts back off at 67°F, cycling as needed to keep the tank protected in conditions as cold as -40°F. It runs off your 12V system through a 2-wire, 16-gauge lead (red for power, white for ground).
It's a straightforward add-on for anyone who winter camps, boondocks in shoulder season, or just wants insurance against a surprise freeze.
