Not every trailer uses the same wiring connector as your tow vehicle. This Hopkins adapter converts a 7-way RV blade socket to a 6-pole round plug, so you can hook up a trailer with the older 6-pole wiring without rewiring anything.
It's a plug-and-play adapter — connect it between your vehicle's 7-way and the trailer's 6-way round plug and you're set. The universal center pin can be switched over for auxiliary power or electric brakes depending on what your setup needs.
Keep one of these in the tow vehicle if you ever pull a trailer with the older 6-pole round wiring.
