Full RV Covers
A full cover is the one you fit when the rig heads into storage: it wraps the entire coach so sun can't bake the roof and sidewalls and rain can't pool on the seals over a long winter. Sizing and choosing a full RV cover
A full cover only earns its keep if it fits. Too loose and it flaps in the wind, sanding the finish and shredding itself; too tight and you can't strap it down over the corners. Measure total length bumper to hitch, not just the box, and know your profile, because travel trailers, fifth wheels, and Class A and C motorhomes each need a differently shaped cut.
- Length and profile. Match the cover's length range to your measured length and pick the cut built for your rig type. A fifth-wheel cover allows for the raised nose; a travel-trailer cover does not.
- Breathable fabric. This is the feature that matters most. The cover has to vent moisture, or condensation sits against the roof and sidewalls all winter. Multi-layer breathable poly sheds rain from above while letting humidity escape from below.
- Reinforced corners and tie-downs. Corners and the ladder area take the worst wear. Reinforced panels and a cinch strap that runs under the rig stop the cover from ballooning in wind.
- Access zippers. Zippered door panels let you get into the coach mid-storage without unwrapping the whole thing.
Before you cover up, pad the sharp points so the fabric isn't sawing on a hard edge: the rear ladder, the gutter spouts, and the awning arms. Add tire covers for the wheels the main cover leaves exposed, and look over your roof sealants and coatings first, since a covered rig is the easiest time to catch a seam about to fail.
