Instead of prying off a stuck snap-in cover every time you need to reach the water heater controls, this Girard conversion door hinges open and closes with a sliding latch — a real upgrade in everyday convenience for 6-gallon Atwood water heaters.
Note that converting an Atwood 6-gallon flush-mount unit to this door requires modifying the corners, since this kit doesn't cover them; if your water heater already has a Suburban-style flush mount, no corner modification is needed. A trim ring is available separately if you want a finished edge.
