A worn factory tailgate relies on cables to keep it from free-falling, and over time that setup gets loud and rough on the hinge points. Dee Zee's tailgate assist adds a shock that controls the drop, so opening the tailgate becomes a smooth, one-handed motion instead of a fight.
This version fits 1997-2003 Ford F150 and 1999-2016 Ford Super Duty F250/F350 trucks (not compatible with F150 SuperCrew or Flareside models). The nutsert now comes pre-applied with thread lock, so there's no separate bottle to deal with during install, and the whole kit goes on without drilling.
