A battery sitting unused between trips slowly self-discharges, and a small solar trickle charger is an easy way to keep it topped off without running shore power. Battery Doctor's amorphous panel kit puts out up to 5 watts (roughly 420 mA) to maintain a 12V battery.
Amorphous panel technology keeps generating power in cloudy and overcast conditions, not just direct sunlight, which makes it more forgiving than a rigid crystalline panel for daily maintenance charging. The panel is framed in anodized aluminum and connects through a bullet connector to either the included 12V cigarette lighter adapter or alligator clips.
This is a maintenance-level trickle charger, not a fast charger - it's meant to offset self-discharge on a battery in storage, not recharge a dead one quickly.
