A rear-mounted spare eats up space you'd rather use for a bike rack or cargo carrier, and it adds weight and length right where you don't want it. BAL's Hide-A-Spare tucks the spare up under the trailer between the I-beam frame rails instead, out of the way but still easy to get to when you need it.
Two mounting plates attach to the frame with self-tapping screws for a straightforward install. To access the tire, you pull a knob and pin and the carrier telescopes down and out for easy removal, then locks back up out of the way when you're done.
This recessed mount is sized for roughly 70-72 inches of frame length - confirm clearance on your trailer's I-beam before ordering, since it's not designed for enclosed underbelly setups.
